Safety First: How We Keep Kids Safe When Talking to AI

KidTalk Team

Safety first

Our commitment to safety

When we designed KidTalk, every decision started with one question: is this safe for the child? Talking with AI can open up wonderful learning moments, but none of that matters unless parents can hand over the device and feel completely at ease.

Safety in layers

We don’t rely on a single guardrail. Our approach is layered, so if one line of defense is ever bypassed, others are still in place.

  1. Content filtering. Everything the AI generates passes through filters that catch inappropriate words and topics. These filters are continuously updated so they keep up with new risks instead of going stale.

  2. Reviewed by experts. Our AI models and safety guidelines are developed alongside specialists in child psychology and education. That means we’re not just filtering technically — we’re checking that what kids hear is actually appropriate from a developmental standpoint.

  3. Privacy by design. As detailed in our privacy policy, your child’s voice is used only to generate a response and is deleted immediately after. We don’t store identifying data, and we don’t use children’s recordings to train anyone else’s models.

A note for parents

KidTalk is designed to give your family the upside of modern technology while keeping the risks as small as we can make them. We promise to stay transparent about how it works, and to keep raising the bar on what “safe” means.
